Paintings of Manchester

It was L.S. Lowry who made masterpieces based on the people and landscape of Manchester, but Angela Wakefield follows in his footsteps with her latest paintings. Her scenes of the city’s Northern Quarter and Exchange Square show how much the city has changed since Lowrys’ day – Manchester is transforming into a colourful metropolis. Angela says, “… Manchester has always been a huge inspiration for me as a painter. As my nearest large city, I have a strong connection to it having had a number of memorable experiences there.”
