Description
‘Radio City, New York’ – Painting of Manhattan by British Urban Landscape Artist. Radio City Music Hall is a world famous entertainment venue located at 1260 Avenue of the Americas at Rockefeller Center in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. This original illustrates Angela Wakefield’s ability to capture the behaviour of light within the urban landscape, particularly in wet conditions after rain or at twilight. The combination of the figures, traffic and architecture are captured beautifully in her ‘contemporary realist’ painting style. The dramatic sky definitely adds to the atmosphere in this painting.
Angela Wakefield has twice been on the front cover of ‘Art of England’ and featured in ARTnews, attracting international attention and critical acclaim with her urban landscape paintings of New York, London & the North of England. The style of painting has been described as ‘contemporary realism’, and is often favourably compared with Edward Hopper by collectors and art critics. Angela’s work is held in private collections in Europe and the USA, including the British Royal Family. Her admirers include leading figures in international business, filmmaking and the media.
