Enquire about this Painting
This painting is a major new original work from the Angela Wakefield Corporate Collection, and is the view from St.Paul’s Cathedral looking in an easterly direction. As you can see, the surrounding architecture in the foreground of the painting is significantly lower so as not to affect the view of the Cathedral and to preserve its proud elevated position. This viewpoint is a unique perspective on a growing city, featuring the dominant architectural structures of the ‘Gherkin’, the ‘Walkie-Talkie’ and the Leadenhall Building towards the east.
Angela’s expressive painting style works so well to capture the ever-changing physical landscape of London, evidenced by the cranes and various construction works in progress. The vivid cloudscape provides a real depth that adds extra drama to what has to be one of Angela’s major works to date. Her paintings are strong, colourful portrayals of a dynamic city that is full of inspiration. The painting is on high quality Winsor & Newton canvas, painted in superior artist quality acrylic paint. Signed on the rear, initialled on the front, the painting comes with full authentication.
